KIT Scenarist 0.7.2 rc9f

Hello!

Today we publish an update of KIT Scenarist 0.7.2 rc9f, which includes:

- fix of a program crash in some cases when printing;
- improved synchronization and conflict management for offline changes;
- added support for Mac OS X Catalina;
- added Swedish interface translation.

P.S. I apologize for the long answers lately ... I am moving according to the plan - I need to work on a new version (I think that this will not even be a new version of KIT, but a new product), but! however, I do not abandon the current version and plan gradual improvements and fixes to the most critical problems. After this update, updates will be released for mobile versions, first for iOS, and then I will work on the version for Android (which has been abandoned for various reasons, but now we will update and improve it). Well, in parallel, I will process all incoming mail and I will definitely answer every one!

Hey! Hi! First of all, I fucking love your software! But if I could ask for 2 wishes those would be:
1. A way to connect the dictionary to KIT, so it could underline misspelled words like in Word (Dyslexic writer over here =S )
2. The possibility of open scripts in tabs (the way you manage tabs on Chrome), in order to work in parallel on different episodes (for a serie)

1. Yes, you can activate it by going to the Settings - Application - Common - Spell check
2. Currently, no. But we work on version 2 (which I mention in this post) and it will include this feature.

Suggestions

Hello! Your software is nothing short of amazing, and it's nice to hear that you are working on great stuff for v2 (tabs are awsome!).

I have some suggestions, that I think would make it that much closer to perfect. Maybe nothing you've never been asked before, but there it is:

- Add audio and video to gallery
- add something like 'item' as a research category
- add an optional grid and snap to Mind Maps.
- be able to attach media to character profile
- be able to identify characters and items in action paragraph
- insert media in script, or reference media (connect a word/sentence/line/paragraph/bookmark to an object in the research tab. Maybe have it react when the mouse hovers).
- display a timeline (like in Final Draft) but vertical, on the side (like in Sublime Text). Have it reflect the scenes with their colors, bookmarks and whatever you think is useful.

As I told you before I love Kit Scenarist. I'm writing my third feature script on it. I recommend to all my screenwriting collegues and some of them are already using it. I'm sure the app will be great and we will all love it as we do with Kit Scenarist. Do you have a timeframe for it?

Hello, my friend. I'm glad to hear you! No, currently no timeframe for it. I try to grab as much time as possible and work hard on it, but life is always unpredictable... So no plans. I think the new version will come out in one day of 2020 :)

Hello Tom, you can add watermark to the exported PDF-file by setting it in the advanced options of the export dialog (Menu - Export - Export Script - PDF - Advanced - Watermark).

Suggestion

It would be great with scene numbers in both sides and background color different from the gray that's too similitar to the white of the script paper.

Hello Paloma, thanks for your suggestions! We plan to add showing scene numbers on both sides. But what about change color of the script paper - currently, you can change it in Settings - SCript Editor - Common - Theme colors.

Hello!
If you mean the interface font and small or large buttons, please check the following settings:
Settings —> Application —> Common —> Enable HIDPI Scaling
Settings —> Application —> Common —> Compact Mode

If you need zoom in only on the page and text display:
Ctrl+ and Ctrl– (Cmd for Mac), or hold Ctrl and rotate the mouse wheel

If you want the font to be both displayed and printed in a different size, you have to create a new template:
Settings —> Template Library —> Tap on the Plus Icon (Add Template) —> Choose Base Template —> Rename and edit it anytime
Set up the new template here
Settings —> Template Library —> Press on needed template —> Apply selected template (checkmark)
OR
Settings —> Script Editor —> Editing —> Editor Text Template
